A really wonderful wax bean variety, the pods grow in a ring shape instead of a straight pod. Buttery and tender, the beans are top quality. This is what is called in Germany a ‘croissant’ bean or in Italy a ‘shrimp bean’, a nod to the crescent shape of the pods, and without exception these are very productive. The seeds of ‘Yellow Crescent’ are also really remarkable, since most wax bean seeds are either black or white, sometimes with a brown eye mark, but these are a bright grape purple with cream flecks.
