A bean variety that results from the work of Joseph Lofthouse. Mr. Lofthouse started with ‘Muni Chocame’ aka ‘Ochoriwame’, a bean from central southern Sierra Tarahumara, and grew it for many decades selecting each season the earliest plants to save seed from. This Northern Ontario friendly ‘Muni Chocame’ bean can easily be grown where I live, and is hardy as well as productive. The seeds are a speckled grey stone color with dark swirls, though there is some variation in the beans. A few have blue tan shades to them. For dry use. 2024 seed.
