Mascarade de Briel Pole Bean Seeds

A European heirloom from Volpiano, Italy. A sensational bean with a nice coloration, white beans with black splashes over the tops that contain grey flecks. 3 vines produced a pound of dry beans. Italy is quite a treasure trove of heirloom beans, and they have a long tradition of regional varieties with special uses. I believe this bean is named for the town of Briel-Sur-Roya which is on a well known railway route that runs between Nice and Cuneo Italy. For cooking as a dry bean as far as I know. 2023 seed.  Gratefully received from the wonderful collection of Russ Crow, Woodstock, Illinois.
