Bill Jump’s Soup Pea Seeds

A rare dry pea. An extremely high yielding variety, seeds are a dark reddish brown. When I grew this pea in 2023 I thought it was only for dry use, but I’ve since read at Seed Savers Exchange that it can be eaten fresh too. I never tried it that way because I didn’t know! The vines are quite tall, and a 6 foot trellis is a good idea. A late-maturing heirloom pea that was donated to Seed Savers Exchange by Dennis Miller, whose great-grandfather, Bill Jump, grew the peas in eastern Washington since at least the 1930s.
