A sweet fresh eating corn, a super early variety excellent for short seasons. This corn is not the same as ‘Yukon Chief’ – there’s a different breeding and history for each one. ‘Yukon Supreme’ was bred by Glenn Drowns of Sandhill Preservation Center to have a 50 days to maturity timing. The plants grow to about 4 feet and there is some variation in the amount of cobs per plant, most had 2 but there were a few with as many as 5 or 6. I’m not really sure what to attribute that to, but it was remarkable. The cobs are the traditional yellow color, and the taste was MUCH better than the market corn I tried in 2024. The kernels are sweet but also have a really good texture and meatiness, with some depth to them unlike so many corns with really shallow cob kernels. Superb breeding. Love the flavor of these. This is a very rare corn variety in Canada, I received these seeds from Mandy’s Greenhouse in Tyndall, Manitoba. 2024 seed. At least 50 -100 seeds
