North Star Pinto Bush Bean Seeds

An American heirloom bush bean. One of the first true bush pinto bean varieties, released by Robert Lobitz of Paynesville, Minnesota. A bean intended for dry use. Dry seed has the characteristic beige seed with brown flecks shared by all varieties of pintos. Lovely & large pinto. I’ve been wanting a true bush pinto for years, it’s one of my favourite cooking beans, and it seemed there were none. Then I found this one in 2021 and am happy it turned out to be a winning variety.  Gratefully received from the wonderful collection of Russ Crow, Woodstock, Illinois.
