Zugdidi Flat Cake Pole Bean Seeds

$4.00

An extremely rare bean from Georgia, a country at the intersection of Europe and Asia. Collected by seed explorer Joseph Simcox. This is a very, very late maturing bean and will dangle with pods when all the rest are gone. I used transplants and barely got by having it dry indoors plucked from the vine in October. But, I did manage to get all seeds to maturity and in a good state. If you’re a seed saver, this is probably a better bean for Southern locations unless you like a challenge. I believe this is a green bean variety, and the quality is high though I haven’t sampled many. I had only 8 seeds to try and make a go of it, and I failed with 4 of them in the 1st year attempt, so I didn’t want to compromise what little might make it. Dry seeds are a buff colour, flat with a slightly orange eye. 2023 seed. Super rare.  Gratefully received from the wonderful collection of Russ Crow, Woodstock, Illinois.
