Monaco Musso Niriu Pole Bean Seeds
$4.00
I’m very partial to the loveliness of Italian beans, and these are a wonderful and productive example of Italian breeding and selection. The seeds are quite large, white and bearing a distinctive black mark over the eye. I’ve tried to unravel the mystery of its name, and thus far it seems to reference a Monk. This is somewhat of an Italian tradition it seems, as many beans from Italy bear names with Holy references. The bean was very productive and beautiful, though it is on the later side for maturity. I managed to get them dried down successfully, but transplants are a good idea with this bean if you live as North as I do. Primarily for dry use, though I have read it can be eaten as green snaps when young. 2023 seed. Gratefully received from the wonderful collection of Frances Thorn, Denfield, Ontario.
