An old timey Appalachian heirloom, for fresh eating as snap beans. Also known as Tick Bean, Old-Time Brown Stick, and Leer Bean, the Granny bean was collected from the Smoky Mountains of Cocke County, Tennessee and offered on the Seed Savers Exchange by legendary seed saver, John Coykendall. Was often canned as well. Quite early to mature. Seeds are fairly round, and shiny milk chocolate brown. Rare. 2024 seed.
