Dwarf Raisin Capujiner Dry Pea

$4.00

Dwarf pea variety. A very ornamental pea, with beautiful rose, pink and wine flowers on short vines that grow 2 1/2 to 3 feet. Blossoms look inky blue as they fade out. This could almost be grown for its’ flowers as much as its’ peas. I believe this is a very old line of pea, going back as far as the 1500’s. The pods can be eaten as small snow peas, but all purple pea types have a slightly coarser texture than green snow peas. In a salad this would be pretty and well matched with other veggies which need a good chewing. It is a significant producer of dried soup peas as well, and dries down quite early. An exceptionally ornamental pea variety.  2020 seed.
