Ugandan Bantu Semi-Runner Bean Seeds
$4.00
I believe this is a collection of heirloom beans from Africa brought back to North America by seedhunter Joseph Simcox. There is an assortment of colours in the mix, and I’m not sure if this is a landrace or a collection of various colours that will come true to type if selected out of the bunch. The colours themselves are mostly extravagant – hot purples, smokey blue greys, army greens, dull pinks, fluorescent yellows, lavenders. There are a few snorific colours in there too though – a few browns and beiges. Fortunately, they make up only a small percentage of the population. I think this bean has been around awhile, and it’s a nice variety – dries up early, and is super productive and naturally diverse. I got over a pound of seed from 5 feet of row, which is pretty darn good. I think this one can only be used as a dry bean. 2022 seed.
