Tom Thumb Shelling Pea Seeds

An old American heirloom. A good candidate for pot culture and it produces well for its small 12″ height. This pea was bred as a shelling pea, and has some significant cold tolerance bred into it. I often seed this one in late April early May in window boxes. In fact, I don’t bother growing this one in the ground because the slugs are only too well able to damage a crop. Not near as sweet as other shelling peas, but the harvest is impressive and they are often the first peas to be eaten.  2021 seed.
