A very nice fresh eating or frying pepper, pods are red and fairly long – about 6 inches. Flesh really is sweet. Italian immigrants from Belsito Calabria, in southern Italy, brought this superb pepper to the Chicago suburb of Melrose Park almost a century ago – hence the name. Quite an old heirloom and I can see why this one has stuck around. Baker Creek carries this one. Production was excellent. 2024 seed. 30 seeds/packet.
