Refugee Bush Bean Seeds

A European heirloom bean with a history in Ontario, it was canned commercially in the early 1900’s. It is believed to have been brought to England by French Huguenots, who brought it into general cultivation. Was sold by American seedsmen as early as 1822. Makes a nice snap bean, striped pods. Seed is very small, light brown and speckled with black. There is naturally some reverse markings. Can be used for canning. 2020 seed.
