One of the most unusual beans I’ve ever grown! This is a dual use bean, the pods eaten fresh and seeds also used as soup beans. The seeds are such a pretty coloration. The light green pods are long, huge and extremely fleshy, almost sponge-y. They are so squishy it can actually make it difficult for the seeds to dry properly in fall so care must be taken when drying down the pods to keep them as cool as possible. The leaves are enormous like a tropical houseplant. Dates to the 1700’s where it was grown in what is now Ohio & Indiana. Very old bean. 15 Seeds/packet. (Seeds in photo are slightly immature.)
