Nickell Pole Bean Seeds

$4.00

I bean I decided to grow for the name, since a synonym for my town is ‘Nickel City’! However, I was staggered at this bean’s production. An Appalachian heirloom bean that is originally from Eliot County, Kentucky and saved by the Nickell family. This is NOT the commonly available filet bean called ‘Nickel’ with one ‘l’. This bean is carried by Sustainable Mountain Agriculture, an organization that does excellent work to preserve and highlight the plight of disappearing Appalachian food crops. It’s an honor to have beans in my collection from them! A green snap bean, this was the 2nd top producing variety after ‘Fat Man’. A superb variety. Rare. 2024 seed.
