Mongeta Sastre Pole Bean Seeds

A very rare dry bean from Spain, the second latest bean in my whole collection. However, even I was able to dry down seeds where I live, indoors and off the vine. This bean is included in the Vallès Oriental Seed Bank Project for Recovery and Dissemination of Local Varieties, which does not sell seeds but wants to catalogue, recover and disseminate the region’s agrobiodiversity and increase the presence of traditional varieties in the agri-food market. Vallès Oriental is a municipality in the Barcelona region of Catalonia, Spain. The name translates to ‘Tailor Bean’, which is somewhat bewildering. It is a productive bean, medium size in rosy red pink flecked with cream. Very late maturity. Rare. 2023 seed.  Gratefully received from the wonderful collection of Artur Kobylecki, Kielce, Poland.
