Marie Louise Pole Bean Seeds

$5.00

A historical bean from France, which I believe dates to the 1800’s. It doesn’t originate with any particular seed company, but has been kept in circulation through European seed saving growers and later in heirloom & conservation oriented seed catalogues. It’s likely a kitchen bean that’s been passed down through various families or communities.  Here in Sudbury she did wonderfully, a really exceptional performance and yield in my first grow out. I believe this is both a fresh eating bean as well as dry bean, like so many of the older heirloom varieties. This is not the same bean as ‘Gold Marie’ – a German wax bean with Romano type pods – despite some similarity in the names.  Many thanks to Gabriella in the UK who shared these seeds with me.
