Barrangeonnier Bush Bean Seeds

$4.00

An historic European heirloom bean from France which has traditionally been cultivated in a small region of the Barangeon Valley. Even in Europe this seed was not found in seed catalogs because it was only grown regionally. The beans were considered very fine dining, and eaten but once a month in festive meals. The inn in Vignoux sur Barangeon used them to prepare food exclusively for weddings and communions. The bean seeds themselves are exceptionally colored – a deep blushing pink with red flecking. Pods can be eaten fresh when young as well. Very rare. 2023 seed. 20 seeds in a packet.  Gratefully received from the wonderful collection of Artur Kobylecki, Kielce, Poland.
