Alabama Big Mama Pole Bean Seeds

In the top 10 of the 2025 pole bean varieties!  Wow, what a great bean.  Extremely early to form green pods with a slight purple tint, and continues to yield heavily all summer long.  The pods also have some hold time on the vine, truly great selection went into this bean.  It’s not a bean with a clearly documented history but it appears that the bean originates with an elderly lady in south Alabama who had shared the seeds with locals, who continued to save the seed and pass it down.  By the 1990s the seeds made their way into wider seed saving circles.  A variety saved, in the end, by backyard gardeners.  25 seeds/packet
