A sweet corn I tried in 2025, an old heirloom corn developed in Canada and dates to 1920. It was developed by Robert Simonet of Edmonton, Alberta. It was selected for the shorter, cooler summers of the prairies. It is known for a remarkable resistance to rotting in cold soil. Cobs are lower on the plants, and grow one or even two cobs per stalk depending on soil fertility. Sweet, yellow cobs are about 7 inches long and were ready end of July/ beginning of August, though of course this is dependent on summer weather. Plants are not super tall, about 5 feet. Very nice corn, best flavor when picked and cooked right away. Really nice yields.
