Purple Carruther’s Pea Seeds

A dual use pea – can be eaten as a shell pea and also used as a dried pea. Dark purple pods are produced in abundance on vines that grow to about 5 feet. Flowers are striking in pink and burgundy. Generally, purple podded peas are coarse and better suited for use as dried peas, but these were actually good fresh which is not common for purple types.
