A fairly rare heirloom dry bean, presumably from Portugal given the name. Seeds are large, maroon colored (no surprise there!) and flecked throughout with beige, or even pink. Shells are very resistant to pathogens and easy to empty as they are so stiff and large. Quite early to dry down, and highly productive. Very pretty! 2024 seed.
