Limoncello Basil Seeds

The name of this basil is misleading – this is NOT the species Ocimum basilicum that most culinary basils belong to, it’s Ocimum americanum. This Lime basil is not the Italian type of basil commonly bought on store shelves at C Tire, this is a plant closer to lemon verbena in it’s scent and use. I believe this species originates in Thailand. I grew to love this plant due to its intoxicating lemony lime scent, and it probably would make a great tea herb too. It smells heavenly. The leaves of this basil have a deep citrus flavor, much more so than verbena, and I’d like to experiment more with it in the future. This lovely basil variety is rather exceptional. Rare. 2023 seed.
