Lavender Swirl Bean Seeds
$4.00
A bean I received with no attached history, I was drawn to grow it since it’s so distinctive. A bean brought to North America by the seed hunter Joseph Simcox. The seeds are small and white, somewhat flat, with true purple dark lavender flecks. Such little beauties. The pods are dark green splashed in purple, with bright pink blossoms. This variety is hugely productive but matures very late, and I needed to dry the pods indoors off the vine. But they matured perfectly and are lovely specimens. Vines are extremely tall and these collapsed their poles with the weight of the full pods. For dry use, but could possibly be eaten as young snaps too. Rare. 2023 seed. Gratefully received from the wonderful collection of Russ Crow, Woodstock, Illinois.
