Iona Petit Pois Shelling Pea Seeds

A French heritage variety. A shelling pea which is fairly low growing, 2 – 3 feet high. Peas themselves are about half the size of a regular shelling pea but are a bit sweeter in flavour. The pods are 3 to 4 inches long, and the vines are – surprisingly – quite heavy producers. Some descriptions of this pea suggest this variety needs no support, though my experience suggests otherwise. They grew tall enough to flop over and the pods would have been compromised without a support to cling to. A tasty and delicate pea variety.  2020 seed.
