Grandma Gina’s Pole Bean Seeds

$4.00

A very unique bean variety – absolutely enormous pods, a very large Romano type pod. Green, flat, incredibly thick & meaty. The flesh of one bean pod is about the equivalent of 2 or 3 medium size asparagus spears. This is a rare family heirloom that was brought to America from Italy in the 1900’s by Gina Lami.  Her granddaughters continue to grow these beans in Kalamazoo and Pittsburgh to this day. Such an impressive and unique variety.  Dry seed is a dark inky blue, and immature seeds are an electric lavender blue.  So glad I added this bean to my collection. Rare. 2023 seed.  Gratefully received from the wonderful collection of Artur Kobylecki, Kielce, Poland.
