Gill’s Delicious Giant Pole Bean

Also known as ‘Delicious Giant’. American heirloom bean introduced by the Gill Brothers Seed Company of Portland, Oregon in 1925. Was crazy productive and super early. A very impressive bean all around, intended for use as a snap bean. Resisted the disastrous effects of humidity well, given my 2022 conditions. I do believe this is one of those beans that is endangered given so few seed companies offer it anymore. It has Kentucky Wonder in its heritage and I’m sure that’s part of why this is such a great variety. Seed is elongated in a mix of pink and grey.  Gratefully received from the wonderful collection of Russ Crow, Woodstock, Illinois.
