Fountain Pitts Allen Pole Bean

A pole bean whose history & origin is a complete mystery to me! It’s a dry bean, and my seed donor doesn’t have much information about it. My guess is that this bean carries somebody’s family name. The good news is it’s such a fantastic bean that I’m not too concerned about its history. The bean seeds are really quite pelagic and marine inspired, deep blue-ish with grey speckles and reminiscent to me of a humpback whale. The vines are strong, healthy, vigorous and dry down fairly early. Production was really good too. Wonderful, if mysterious, variety.
