Dusslinger Beckerschürzle Pole Bean Seeds

A European heirloom from Germany. A gorgeous big mama of a dry bean – large, round and smooth with a deep, dark burgundy seed coat splashed with white. These were really something. The dried pods, though, were the hardest I’ve ever shelled, like opening up bricks. Rock hard. Production wasn’t mind blowing but the quality of seed was superb. I’ve only grown it once and I am planning on growing it again in 2023 I liked it so much. I believe the name has the charming translation of ‘Baker’s Apron’. Very rare. Not sure if it can be used as a snap bean too.  2022 seed.  Gratefully received from the wonderful collection of Artur Kobylecki, Kielce, Poland.
