A surprising snap bean variety, with remarkably early maturity. I’ve never grown one earlier than this. Plants are quite compact, small even, and pods are long, green and flat. Occasionally they touch the ground. Dry seed is flat and white, rather large. Wonderful early variety, this bean has been grown in the Carrot River area of Saskatchewan for a very long time. A fantastic Canadian heirloom.

I am the person that submitted the Drew’s Dandy Bush Beans to the Heritage Seed group in Manitoba a number of years ago !
Of course I would rate my bean as 5 Star .
This bean had been grown in the Carrot River Saskatchewan area since this farming area had began to be cultivated in the 1930s… for many generations
I have not been able to find its origins.I felt it’ earliest maturing and quality needed to be preserved… not being a modest. Person I named it after myself …those who got seed from me over the years always said”those beans of yours sure are a dandy”. thus the name ! Thanks for preserving my bean for future generations to enjoy !!!
