Dikpenske Bush Bean Seeds

$5.00

This bean is also known as the ‘Kûgelbeantsje’ and ‘Leverkleurige Boon’ which means ‘liver-colored bean’. Its origin is the Friesland region of the Netherlands, reportedly the village of Sumar. It is maintained as a rare, regional variety within collections of traditional Frisian crops by organizations like the Werkverband Friese Rassen.  The seedcoat is so lovely & peculiar, almost matte like a coconut with a very white eye.   For use as a dry bean.
