Blooming Prairie Bush Bean Seeds

An American heirloom bush bean. An original Robert Lobitz variety, named for Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. An excellent purple snap bean for fresh use, but also a beautiful dry bean variety. Cream coloured seed is covered in lavender smoke shading. Such a totally distinctive colouring that Mr. Lobitz was able to achieve with these, and they belong to a rare and tiny family of other beans with similar purple smoke shading – Purple Dove, Purple Diamong, Purple Rose Creek. A wonderful bean variety all around. The snap beans are very good and grow in great abundance. So many wonderful beans to Mr. Lobitz’s credit, it’s an honour to collect them today and celebrate his work.
