Rotebeerbohne Bush Bean Seeds

A super gorgeous European heirloom from Germany, a real knockout in the world of beans. Hard to pick favourites, but I think even I’d have to admit that this was my favourite bush bean for 2022. Smooth, shiny deep rose/burgundy with true pink flecking, a slight jelly bean shape. Not easy to describe and do it justice, especially freshly dried. The maturity was early to boot. I’ve read on Bohnen Atlas that this bean is primarily used as a green bean, though I can’t attest to it since I had very few seeds to start with and thus the 2022 grow out was a seed crop only. It must be hardy too because 2022 was not an easy bean year for me and this one came through with flying colours. Fantastic, should be more widely known. Name translates to ‘Red Berry’ bean. 20 seeds in a packet.  Gratefully received from the wonderful collection of Russ Crow, Woodstock, Illinois.
