Paas Lintorfer Bush Bean Seeds

A green bush bean from the seed company Paas & Co. Samenzucht und Samenhandlung in Ratingen-Lintorf near Düsseldorf, dating to 1944. A very popular bean that was once traded nationwide, but in 1972 the seed company was closed and production of this seed ended. What remains appears to be kept alive by the “Verein zur Erhaltung der Nutzpflanzenvielfalt e. V.,” an association dedicated to preserving diversity in agricultural plants. Quite a productive variety, and very early to dry down. A Slow Food Ark variety. Rare. 2023 seed.  Gratefully received from the wonderful collection of Artur Kobylecki, Kielce, Poland.
