An heirloom bean whose origins are totally unknown to me, though it would appear to be from Greece. It’s a rare bean & there seems to be no information out there about it. It is a hugely productive variety, pods are green, smooth and fairly flat. They are super early to mature as well. I believe it’s a snap bean. The seeds are two slightly different shades of brown, though they both produce the same bean and the seed shape is flat and somewhat squared. A fantastic bean variety.  2022 seed.  Gratefully received from the wonderful collection of Russ Crow, Woodstock, Illinois.

This bean came to me in 2014 and sent to me by Annette Barley of Nanaimo, B.C. She sent me a number of beans. I think she was more interested in snap bean types. Her stage name in The Easy Garden was aftermidnight. I think the only way we will find out for sure if this bean is a snap bean is to grow them and try cooking and eating them.
