Another new bean I tried in 2024, and was really quite dazzled by it. An American heirloom, the plants were quite tall, pods were purple and the plants were hanging to the ground with them. Excellent production, and they went all summer long. A pencil type pod variety, from the legacy collection of Robert Lobitz of Paynesville, Minnesota. Seeds are really something too, small with dark purple smokey shading over a creamy white base seedcoat. A really good fresh bean, I’d even describe it as a touch superior to ‘Blooming Prairie’, a sister variety to this one from Mr. Lobitz’s collection. 2024 seed. 30 seeds/packet.
