Huge producer of delicious little red currant tomatoes. Can grow quite large if not in a pot. Excellent variety; was grown with a 50 foot isolation distance from any other tomato. Should be true to type, but with the currants, unless it’s under a net, you never know. Saved thousands of seeds, so I can put a lot in a packet. Intense delicious taste. Excellent sweet and tart balance.

If you’ve ever thought, “I wish there was a tomato wouldn’t stop producing until I was thoroughly sick of picking it,” then boy, do I have good news for you! Granted, the West Coast is probably the only place in Canada where you can be out in the dark in November, hands freezing, resignedly harvesting teensy tomatoes that *will not stop* ripening despite your pleas, but still – impressive! Spoon bounced right back from the Curly Top outbreak that ruined half of my garden last year and went on to produce so many tiny tomatoes that it began to cross the line from “crop” to “Old Testament plague”. Pretty standard tomato flavour, but has many other admirable qualities that make up for it: perfection for sprinkling on salads, unmatched plant vigour, and the profound satisfaction of popping the tiny fruits between your thumb and forefinger for seed saving.
