Country Pink Hollyhock Flower Seeds

These hollyhocks have been seeding themselves in my perennial garden for many years. They are a single flower variety in dark pink, and grow to about 6 feet usually, sometimes taller. I planted them from seeds originally, with dreams of a cottage garden. The plants of this variety are always very robust, deep green and vigorous – nothing like the spindly, washed-out types I’ve seen that seem barely able to maintain chlorophyll molecules or hold up in a wind. Not sure if this is soil related or varietal. Something about hollyhocks seems to be the epitome of charming, with their striking height and the big showy blooms. The seeds form inside circular pods, in a perfectly filed row. Like little space ships pods. 2023 seed.
