Was said to be collected from a vegetable market in India. The best yellow podded pea I’ve tried so far. I can’t decide what I like more, the gorgeous purple flowers or the peas! Blossom buds are a creamy colour, then emerge pink, then mauve, and finally deep purple which moves into navy blue as it begins to fade away. It is considered one of the most resilient pea varieties, with tolerance for a wide range of conditions, possibly owing to its Asian origins. I recently read that they also make good shelling peas, so it is something I will try the next time I grow them.\u00a0 2020
