It has flavour straight off the vine, a little like ground cherries I find, quite sweet really, but different people react differently to the flavour. Some seem to like it, some not. When I grew these again in 2023 I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked the berries, more so than the first time. The sweetness can be a bit much for those who aren't into this level of sugary flavor. The greatest feature of this fruit is that it can be harvested very early on in the season and will continue to ripen fruits for 5 months, deep into October if there are no hard, killing frosts.
