a Grappoli Longkeeper Tomato Seeds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An Italian longkeeper variety with truly exceptional storage abilities.\u00a0 This one and &#8216;Zhiraf&#8217; are probably able to keep the longest of all the tomatoes in my storage tomato collection.\u00a0 \u00a0They also mature and ripen very similarly; the fruits seem to hang in suspension on the vines in late August and early September, not changing color much.\u00a0 At harvest they have little color, green with slight hints of ripening here and there.\u00a0 The name means &#8216;Yellow Clusters&#8217; &#8211; which is misleading because they don&#8217;t ripen to yellow.\u00a0 These are more of a deep peach color.\u00a0 I wasn&#8217;t able to really start eating them until December, when they were finally peach and ripening.\u00a0 The number of fruits a single plant can yield is really impressive, I had 2 carboard flats full.<\/p>\n<p>In February, when I squeezed them for seeds, I was amazed to see there was still gel around the seeds and the fruits still had the aroma of the summer garden.\u00a0 No longkeeper tomato tastes as good as summer ripened fruit, but they do taste like they came from your garden.\u00a0 All in all, this is a great variety and does well on pizza and bruschetta.\u00a0 As I wanted to offer this tomato on the website I did collect seeds in February, but they were not
