bean with a clearly documented history but it appears that the bean originates with an elderly lady in south Alabama who had shared the seeds with locals, who continued to save the seed and pass it down.\u00a0 By the 1990s the seeds made their way into wider seed saving circles.\u00a0 A variety saved, in the end, by backyard gardeners.\u00a0 25
