This Swedish 100+ years old heirloom bean is dated to 1915, and is attributed to \u2018Mother\u2019 (or \u2018Mor\u2019) Kristin who lived in a small cottage outside Kisa, a town in the Swedish province of <\/span>\u00d6sterg\u00f6tland<\/span>.\u00a0 <\/span>A neighbour of Mother Kristin\u2019s who married, was given some of these beans as a wedding gift.\u00a0 The lady continued to grow these beans all her life.\u00a0 Eventually these seeds found their way into seed saving circles from there to Sweden\u2019s \u2018Fr\u00f6uppropet\u2019 project, a project in the early 2000\u2019s to inventory and preserve traditional heirloom varieties.\u00a0 And the rest is history!\u00a0 Just goes to show that a simple sharing of seeds with others can really be the step it takes to protect them from disappearing!\u00a0 \u00a0Gratefully received from my seed saving friend Gabriella!\u00a0 15 Large Seeds\/packet<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
