A fairly early maturing snap bean, with wide & flat and long pods. A green Romano type and very meaty. This variety appears to originate with a family in New Jersey who received these seeds from a neighbour who had gotten them from Spain or possibly Portugal. If you’ve only ever eaten the pencil pod type of green beans you should definitely consider trying a Romano type. Many people are surprised at how delicious and softly textured they are, similar to mushrooms. Quite different from pencil pod beans. Garden of Eden pods dry down to a lovely soft cream colour with pink highlights, long pods are very easy to open and shell. Medium productivity for a bean of this type when direct seeded. 2023 seed.\u00a0 20 Large
