Welcome to the Trade Voyages<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Heritage Hobby Seed Ark<\/strong> is dedicated to preserving thousands of rare varieties not found anywhere else in Canada. Every seed in our care is precious cargo that has taken years of meticulous preservation to protect. While the Captain is always on the lookout for new, rare varieties to join the Ark, we only accept trades for seeds that are currently unavailable in Canada and carry a significant heritage background. This is a journey of preservation, and we seek partners who value history as much as we do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because our supplies are finite, there is a limit on the amount of seeds that can “set sail” to any single new destination. We understand it is tempting to want everything in the collection, but the Ark’s mission is to spread diversity far and wide. We kindly ask that you be mindful of our limits and please do not present yourself as a pirate<\/strong> when requesting a trade. We are looking for fellow guardians of history, not plunderers of the vault!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your heart is set on a specific variety and you do not have a trade that meets our criteria, do not fret. The Ark\u2019s “gold” is also available for purchase through our Seed Catalogue<\/strong><\/a>, where orders are typically processed and shipped shortly after they are placed. To propose a trade, please make an entry into the Ship\u2019s Log<\/strong> below. List your rare heirlooms, the year they were grown, and their origin story. Please understand that to protect the integrity of the Ark, not all trade offers can be accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hatvani Er\u00f6s Sweet Pepper<\/strong> (Origin: Northern Hungary) \u2013 A rare heirloom from the Heves county, traditionally used for paprika but excellent fresh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charlevoix Pea<\/strong> (Origin: Quebec, Canada) \u2013 A historical dry pea from Quebec that produces high yields on short vines with beautiful speckled seeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glacier Tomato<\/strong> (Origin: Scandinavia) \u2013 A very early red tomato variety that thrives in cooler climates, perfect for the Canadian “Ark.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bis Bush Bean<\/strong> (Origin: Poland) \u2013 A strange and unique yellow wax bean heirloom from Europe that grows in an unusual plant habit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aker\u2019s West Virginia Black Tomato<\/strong> (Origin: USA) \u2013 A deep, rich, earthen-colored tomato known for its smoky flavor and heritage lineage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Syrian Fire Bush Bean<\/strong> (Origin: Syria) \u2013 A rare and striking bean variety that adds international “cargo” to the Ark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Etsdorfer Bush Bean<\/strong> (Origin: Germany) \u2013 A traditional European heirloom bean that is difficult to find in typical Canadian seed stores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Golden India Yellow Snow Pea<\/strong> (Origin: India) \u2013 A rare snow pea variety with bright yellow pods that stand out in any garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
